Why Antibacterial Soaps Should Be Abandoned Immediate?
According to Encyclopedia, antibacterial soaps became popular in the 1950s as a means of killing bacteria that feed on sweat and generate foul odours.
It has been considered since then that antibacterial soaps are better than their equivalents since they can kill the germs and diseases we gather on our skin.
Antibacterial soaps, on the other hand, have the potential to do more harm than good.
Two antibacterial soap chemicals, Triclosan and Trilocarban, were deemed unsafe by the FDA in 2016 after a review of the evidence.
This resulted in a prohibition on the sale of items containing these components.
Drug evaluation and research director Janet Woodcock of the FDA shared her thoughts on the subject.
